Vital energy

The Tao considers sexual energy or jing to be the source of all life and creativity in all its expressions. According to Taoism, this energy is a great resource that can be transformed first into chi or vital breath and then into shen or spiritual force, the other two ways in which people accumulate energy according to this philosophy.

The Spirit, the Essence and the Qi, used and preserved in the right way are our great treasure. Qi is the energy that creates in the entire universe, the fundamental matter.

The spirit (Shen) is the set of psychic functions that allow our body to function, it is spiritual energy.

The essence (jing), the energy in charge of maintaining vital activities, generative energy with which we are born, the rest of the energies depend on it. It is found in all tissues but especially in the kidneys, the expectant and the ovules.

Chi (literally "air, breath, mood") is the energy or active principle that gives us life, the vital energy that unites body, mind and spirit.

Some people affirm that the human being can control and use this energy, through various techniques, increasing it, accumulating it and distributing it throughout the body or using it in a concentrated way, through martial arts. This directed energy can cure a number of diseases through the release of energy flow through the human body. Many medicines such as reiki come from here.

The tao explains the microcoscopic orbit that is formed in the union of the channels of functional cold energy (yin / female) and of hot energy governor (yang / male) through sticking the tongue on the palate, it has the function of linking with all the vital organs of the human body. To establish the flow of the meridians (energy channels that run through the body) some Taoists concentrated on easily located points that matched the acupuncture points.
