ANKH OR ANJ

Actualizado: 12 dic 2021

Today they have given me the discovery of this symbol, it is an Egyptian hieroglyph that means "life or eternal life", they also call it a threaded cross, key of life or Egyptian cross. According to Egyptian culture, this life is only one more part of eternal life.

There is a theory in which Wallis Budge relates the ankh to the knot of isis, the tjet, a ceremonial sash that represented the female genitalia and fertility.

Isis became a very popular goddess as her cult promised eternal life through individual resurrection. Isis rescued her husband Osiris from death and all those who put their faith in her.

Ankh was associated with mirrors since earthly life was reflected in non-earthly life, and it was carried as an amulet to the grave to connect the material and the immaterial.
